The Institute of Politics at Florida State University (IOP@FSU) is a world-class, nonpartisan, and nationally renowned institute that promotes engagement in politics by students and citizens. Housed within the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy, the IOP@FSU supports applied political research by a cadre of world-class scholars and mobilizes the talents of our alumni, students, faculty, and friends all in the heart of Florida’s Capital City.

Undergraduate Fellows Program

Our undergraduate fellows program encourages students to understand the significance of government and civic engagement at all levels, and politics in general, through internship and research opportunities. Undergraduate fellows have unique opportunities to engage with experts in government and researchers about civic engagement and other political topics.

Florida State University offers a multitude of courses that highlight the importance and impact of government and civic engagement. Courses highlighted by IOP@FSU offered at FSU have one theme in common: they touch on the topics of government institutions and civic and political participation. All emphasize the importance of the role of government and civic engagement in our communities.

Leadership

Our leadership supports civil and civic discourse, spurs interest in the political process amongst students and citizens, promotes the idea of public service to the next generation of leaders, and celebrates American democracy as envisioned by the Founding Fathers and as practiced now. We aim to bring people together, finding optimism in politics.
